A New Series – Insights from Teens

Categorized under Writings by Dave

For the last three summers I have been fortunate enough to work with some of the most talented, aware, open and loving teenagers that one could possibly think of at Omega Teen Camp in New York. The camp is run by the Omega Institute, a center for holistic studies that offers spiritual workshops and retreats for adults.

I recently asked some of last year’s campers if they wanted to submit some things to bepeace.org, and create an ongoing series of art and writing from a teenage perspective. My feeling is that having a younger generation participate in this type of sharing and exploring can only be a good thing. What better way to face the challenges that they are going to face in the coming years than with an open heart, full of wisdom and experience beyond their years? Plus, I’d like to more fully appreciate the wisdom and beautiful perspective that teenagers can provide. What do you think?

Hopefully, this small gesture will make their insightful and inspiring voices heard that much more. Be on the look out for amazing stuff from amazing teens!
