Greetings. As you know, I am co-writing a book about an inspirational person who has changed many peoples lives.
Sammy Samuelson was a successful semi pro surfer and carpenter foreman. He lived life without consideration for the future and had a reckless lifestyle that centered on cocaine, booze and money.
The playfulness and humor of this great Sufi poet from the 1300s is still so relevant to our lives. Any of his books are wonderful, but in the meantime, maybe you’ll find something that you can take with you in a few of my favorite Hafiz poems.

I had an inspiring transformational moment the other day while sitting in a traffic jam. It was cold and snowy, but bright, and the exhaust from all the jammed cars wafted all around me, reminding me of all the pollution we emit by the way we live.
Kseniya Simonova is a Ukrainian artist who just won Ukraine’s version of “America’s Got Talent.” She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and “sand painting” skills to interpret Germany’s invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII.

Welcome to the new site. It’s been a long time coming and I hope you are as excited as I am about the potential that bepeace.org has. I’m envisioning a place that people can come to for daily inspiration, a place that offers beautiful art and poetry and music, a place where people can be assured that they are not alone in their desire for self-awareness, community, and conflict-free living.
I’m in NYC for a visit, and of course we got dumped on during the weekend. Here are some pictures that will hopefully remind us that even the city isn’t exempt from the wonders that a blanket of snow can bring.

Check back often for more writing, art, and music.
