I thought I would round up some photos that feel like they were inspired by dreams, or at least might encourage some dreaming next time you sleep.
This is the second post featuring the inspired work of teenagers. This time Matt Bianco-Splann and Christopher Waddell share some of their artwork.
I was in a used book store in Manhattan last month and stumbled upon a small book from the 1960s about Hiroshige, one of the last great Japanese ukiyo-e, or woodblock painters. It wasn’t that I instantly recognized any of the paintings inside the book, but more that they seemed familiar to me in a different way.
I’ll let Randal’s art speak for itself.
Kseniya Simonova is a Ukrainian artist who just won Ukraine’s version of “America’s Got Talent.” She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and “sand painting” skills to interpret Germany’s invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII.
I’m in NYC for a visit, and of course we got dumped on during the weekend. Here are some pictures that will hopefully remind us that even the city isn’t exempt from the wonders that a blanket of snow can bring.
